I am from Hyderabad. I heard that electricity bill varies depending on slab range? What is slab range?

Yes, it is true. Slab range is with respect to number of units you consume.i.e. 0-100 units,100-200 units,200-400 units,>400 units like this. The more you consume more money you have to pay.
For example: In Telangana state tariff during 2016-17 for a domestic consumer is:

S.No.Number of UnitsPrice (in Rupees)
1.0-501.45
2.51-1002.60
>100 units
3.0-1003.30
4.101-2004.30
>200 units
5.0-2005.00
6.201-3007.20
7.301-4008.50
8.401-8009.00
9.800+ units 9.50


From the above table it is clear that, if you consume 100 units per month, you have to pay 260 Rupees, but if you consume 101 units per month you have to pay 333 rupees. Here one unit costing you extra 73 rupees.
